The Great Gatsby
When I read this book in high school, I loathed it. I believe I felt that way because I lacked the literary capacity to truly absorb the essence of the text. I am happy that I gave it another go. The story is so sad and so true. America in the 1920's, unfortunately, is no different than America right now (as far as social economic statuses go...)and that saddens me. And Gatsby...poor poor Gatsby.
